Odyssey Paranormal Research was founded in Hollywood, Broward County Florida in 1976 by Steve Vanik, former member of Odyssey Scientific Research in Baltimore, Maryland, which Steve joined after he and a group of friends were pursued by a UFO one night on a lonely country road. Steve participated in field investigations of UFO's and cryptids (unexplained animals) during the 1970's with Odyssey until moving to south Florida and opening a dive shop.

Odyssey Paranormal Research continues the tradition and is dedicated to researching and documenting paranormal and occult phenomenon of all types in an impartial manner including hauntings, apparitions, poltergeists, suspected malevolent spirits, unexplained animals (cryptids), UFO's, and any other legitimate unusual or unexplainable phenomena.

If you are experiencing paranormal phenomenon in the south Florida area and would like Odyssey to research that activity you are welcome to contact us. We do not charge any fees or try to sell services whatsoever as a result of our research. 

Note that although we certainly research reported "ghostly" activity, we are not "ghost hunters" which is not descriptive of the impartial research we do. We don't sell books, product, or services. We don't use mediums, aren't on a mission from god, and won't tell you that you need your chakras cleansed either. Just an honest and impartial research of your activity, and if we can offer some help or advice regarding your phenomenon we are happy to do so.

We also assure complete privacy and discretion and do not arrive with signs on our vehicles or colorful t-shirts. Names and locations regarding our work are always kept strictly confidential. If you are seeking your 15 minutes of fame then we are not the folks to contact.
